Shopify Agentic Storefronts admin: the May 11, 2026 page

Published

What the Agentic Storefronts admin page is

Verbatim from Shopify's changelog: 'Agentic Storefronts now has its own page in your Shopify admin. Your products are automatically accessible to AI channels like ChatGPT, Shop, and Copilot through Shopify Catalog.' On that page merchants can 'track performance across all major AI channels, see which queries you rank for, and get recommendations to improve your product data.' Admin location: admin.shopify.com/agentic. Launch date: 2026-05-11.

The launch is documented in the changelog1 and reinforced on the Agentic Storefronts help page2. The page exists because eligibility-without-visibility was the dominant state — Shopify needed a surface to expose ranking queries and data recommendations, since 'eligible' alone wasn't actionable.

The three panes inside the admin

The admin page exposes three primary panes per Shopify's description. First: performance across all major AI channels (impressions, surfacing rate, attributed orders per channel). Second: ranking queries (the search phrases your products surface for inside each channel). Third: product-data recommendations (Shopify's per-product suggestions for improving the seven AI-input fields).

Per-channel controls

Two toggles per channel: Shopify Catalog access (whether the channel can recommend the products at all) and Direct checkout (whether checkout completes in the AI chat or routes to the storefront). The Catalog opt-out article and Direct checkout article cover each in detail. The admin page is where both toggles live.

Per Shopify3, 'you can't opt out of Shopify Catalog itself' — but you can selectively block individual AI channels using these two controls. The admin makes both visible per channel on one screen.

Eligibility and rollout

Per the Agentic Storefronts help page, the admin is 'in early access and not yet available for all Shopify stores' as of 2026-05-22. Active by default for eligible stores. Email and admin alerts notify a merchant when the store becomes eligible. The rollout cadence isn't publicly committed; Shopify is expanding access as stores meet eligibility criteria.

If your admin doesn't show admin.shopify.com/agentic yet, eligibility hasn't reached your store. Confirm the store meets Catalog eligibility (the precondition) and watch for the email alert. The eligibility article walks the gates.

Walk-through checklist

Open admin.shopify.com/agentic. Spend 15 minutes walking through these five checks. Most of the surfacing problems merchants ask about resolve to one of the gates in this checklist.

  1. Channel list: confirm all channels you want active are toggled on.
  2. Per-channel Direct checkout: confirm setting matches your storefront strategy.
  3. Ranking queries pane: review the queries your top products rank for. Identify 3-5 queries you'd expect to rank for but don't.
  4. Product-data recommendations: open the top 5 product-data suggestions. Apply the obvious ones (missing GTIN, blank Vendor, single-image).
  5. Channel performance: compare attributed orders per channel month-over-month. Investigate any unexpected drop.
